Terms of Service
The rules that apply when you use Chibily to order a custom 3D-printed figurine. Plain English where we can manage it.

1. Who you're dealing with
Chibily is operated by StartOff, a company registered in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. Throughout these Terms, "we", "us", "our" and "Chibily" mean StartOff operating the Chibily brand. By using the Chibily website or placing an order, you agree to these Terms.

2. Who can use Chibily
To place an order you must be 18 or older. If you're a parent or legal guardian buying on behalf of a child, you may upload a photo of that child only if you are the parent or legal guardian and you consent to the figurine being produced. The account must be registered to the adult, not the child.
You're responsible for keeping your login details secure. If you suspect your account has been used without your permission, email us right away.
3. What we make
Chibily turns a photo you upload into a stylized 2D AI preview, then hand-models and 3D-prints a physical figurine matching that approved preview. The 2D preview is the design contract: when you approve it, the physical figurine is built from it.
Production is done in small batches in the UAE. Small variations between figurines (paint saturation, finish, exact pose interpretation) are normal and not defects. See our Refund Policy for what we treat as a defect.
4. Photos you upload (acceptable use)
By uploading a photo to Chibily, you confirm that all of the following are true:
- Consent. The photo shows you, or shows someone whose explicit consent you have to create a figurine of them. If the subject is a child under 13, you are their parent or legal guardian.
- No copyrighted characters. The photo shows real people, not copyrighted characters or recognisable trademarked designs (Mickey Mouse, Pikachu, Marvel/DC characters, etc.). Real-life cosplay of a costume is fine; a photo of a character drawing is not.
- No NSFW, violent or hateful content. No nudity, sexual content, violence, hate symbols, or content targeting protected groups.
- No deceiving public figures or impersonation. No photos of celebrities, politicians, athletes or other public figures unless they've personally consented.
We may refuse to process any photo that we believe violates these rules — before AI generation, after AI generation, or at any later stage. If we refuse a photo before AI generation runs, we'll fully refund any payment. If we refuse after, refund handling follows our Refund Policy.
You agree to indemnify us against any claim brought by a third party (e.g. someone whose photo you uploaded without consent) arising out of your breach of this section.
5. Ownership of designs
You keep ownership of the original photo you upload. We don't claim it, don't sell it, and (per our Privacy Policy) we don't use it to train AI.
The 2D AI preview and the physical figurine produced from it are made for your personal use. Chibily retains ownership of the underlying style designs (chibi, anime, superhero, etc.) and any future iterations of them — you can't use the AI preview output to start a competing figurine business or sell prints of it commercially.
You're free to share the figurine and the AI preview personally (social media, gifting, photos at home) and we love seeing it — tag us if you do.
6. Pricing, taxes and payment
All prices on the Chibily website are shown in UAE Dirhams (AED). Prices include any UAE VAT where applicable. Payment is processed via Stripe; we don't see or store your card details ourselves.
You authorize us to charge the agreed total at checkout. If the charge fails, we won't start production, and your order will sit as "pending payment" until you complete it (or it expires).
7. Order flow and cancellation
Orders move through these states: design → AI preview generated → preview approved → payment → production → shipped → delivered.
You can cancel for any reason, with a full refund, up until the AI preview is generated. After that, your order is in production and can't be cancelled. See our Refund Policy for the full breakdown.
8. Shipping

9. Account changes and deletion
You can sign out, change your account email, or delete your Chibily account at any time from your account page. Deleting your account anonymizes your past orders (we keep order records for tax and accounting reasons) and deletes your uploaded photos in line with our Privacy Policy.
10. Things we can't promise
The site is provided "as is". To the maximum extent allowed by law:
- We don't guarantee the site will be uninterrupted, error-free, or free of bugs — we'll fix things as we find them.
- AI preview generation depends on third-party AI providers; if they have an outage, we may delay or refund affected orders.
- Our total liability for any order is capped at the amount you paid for that order. We're not liable for indirect, consequential, or special damages (lost opportunities, emotional distress, gift-giving disasters, etc.) beyond what UAE consumer-protection law requires.
Nothing in these Terms limits any rights you have under UAE Federal Law No. 15 of 2020 on Consumer Protection or any other consumer-protection law that applies to you and can't be waived.
11. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms over time. The version that applies to your order is the one in effect when you placed it. Material changes will be flagged on the site (and emailed to logged-in customers) before they take effect. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the current version.
12. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the United Arab Emirates. Any dispute we can't resolve through support@chibily.com is subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of Abu Dhabi.
